Black Light’s New Staging Equipment Treads the Light Fantastic

Black Light is now able to offer new-to-stock, lightweight and easy-to-manage staging thanks to its investment in the cutting-edge Lite Deck system from the Prolyte Group.

"We’ve added over 100 pieces of this innovative kit to our hire stock," says Calder Sibbald, head of Black Light’s Hires and Events. "This makes us the largest stockist of this kind of staging in Scotland and means that our customers can benefit from the flexibility, good looks and exceptional ease of use of this fantastic range of equipment."

As it is based on an aluminum framework, Lite Deck weighs significantly less than comparable staging made from steel. However, despite its light weight, the equipment has a very high loading capacity. "It’s easier to lift and handle," says Sibbald. "It therefore reduces the chance of any strains or injuries happening and allows more effective logistics."

Black Light’s stock of Lite Deck equipment includes a comprehensive range of stage elements, including handrails, multi-couplers, and other accessories. These will allow the construction of functional and elegant structures such as performance stages or dance platforms. They offer a durable and versatile solution to the vast majority of flooring and staging applications.

As well as being able to offer a full range of Lite Deck products, Black Light’s team can also provide a full design and set-up service. However the Lite Deck system is user-friendly and can be assembled with minimal prior training. Few tools are needed and storage is easy and efficient.

The Prolyte Group is one of the largest manufacturers of aluminium trussing, staging and structural solutions in the world. The development of the Lite Deck range of products combined Prolyte’s long-term practical experience with its advanced design and manufacturing techniques. The product range combines smart, high-tech looks with flexible, safe and practical use.

The range’s flexibility is shown by the fact that Black Light’s Lite Deck has already been hired for events linked to the cultural Olympics in London and for theatre productions at this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
