New Lab.gruppen FP+ Turns Heads at PLASA 2006
For Lab.gruppen, Plasa 2006 was “truly stellar”. Tremendous interest was generated by the introduction of eight new models in the Lab.gruppen line. The new FP+ Series caught the attention of a great variety of potential customers from major sound rental companies to theatre and AV specialists. The C Series line extension models also garnered compliments. The four new 8- and 4-channel models were deemed a perfect fit for use as part of large C Series installations and in stand-alone mode for boardrooms, Audio/Visual presentations, cafés, exhibits, bars and in general for applications where lower power per channel with unrivalled sound quality is desired.
The new FP+ Series, includes, the FP 13000 (2 x 6500 W), FP 10000Q (4 x 2500 W), FP 7000 (2 x 3500 W) and FP 6000Q (4 x 1500 W), all ratings at 2 ohms. The new C Series models are, C 20:8X (8 x 250 W), C 10:4X (4 x 250 W), C 10:8X (8 x 125 W) and C 5:4X (4 x 125 W), all ratings at 4, 8, 16 Ohms and 70V. All are 2U in size and very low in weight. FP+ models will start shipping in November with the C Series line extension models coming on to the market in January 2007. This was the first year that Lab.gruppen have taken an independent stand at the PLASA Show in addition to that mounted by Lab.gruppen’s exclusive UK distributors, Sennheiser. All new models were on demonstration. Four custom built kiosks allowed Lab.gruppen technical sales personnel to detail the new amplifiers’ many benefits including the NomadLink control and monitoring network, access to which is standard on all C Series and FP+ amplifiers.
Thomas Mittelman, Lab.gruppen’s long-time international sales manager noted: “I was stunned by the shear number and variety of people who made it to the top floor to visit the stand. No real ‘tyre-kickers’, mostly high-level pros looking for a new solution to power. And FP+ has really stirred the market up. With twice the power as our former largest amplifier at pretty much the same weight and size plus the new 4-channel models at four times the previous model’s power rating – again the same size and weight - I can imagine why…” Claus Behrens, European sales manager continues: “The vast majority of our European distributors were at the show. Many had come straight from our Distributor Conference but many more had come specifically to view the new products. I was additionally pleased by the quantity of customers they brought with them. Orders placed at the show were at least twice the expected level. Fantastic!”
