GB8 Turns Silvas Into Gold

In early September the legendary Bedford in Balham was proud to host a secret show from Universal recording artist Lucie Silvas. Her 90-minute long performance mixed tracks from her million selling first album Breathe In along with sneak previews of the new album The Same Side, due for release in October 2006.
The multi-instrumental backing band, plus Lucie’s impeccable vocals were comfortably handled by the permanently installed 32 channel Soundcraft GB8 desk and bank of BSS graphics, and produced a front-of-house sound that everyone agreed was second to none.
“With power, hi-fi clarity and a warmth that is a Soundcraft hallmark the whole night was a massive success both musically and sonically,” reports the venue’s creative director, Tony Moore.
Silvas's touring FOH engineer, the experienced Nick Maddren (pictured right in photo) took charge of the system, working in close conjunction with The Bedford’s house engineer Gabriele Nicotra (pictured left).
Tony Moore added that the blend of simplicity and quality in the GB8 meant that the show was able to be sound-checked and ready to roll in less than 90 minutes.
