Black Light Appointed Strand Distributor

Edinburgh lighting specialist Black Light has been appointed as distributor for Strand Lighting equipment in Scotland.

The availability of Strand’s lighting and control products now offers Black Light’s customers an even wider range of equipment from which to choose, ensuring the company maintains its position as a leading lighting hire and sales company in Scotland and the north of England.

Black Light managing direct Gavin Stewart is very pleased at such a positive move for both companies. “We aim to offer our clients the widest possible range of support and services, so becoming a distributor for Strand products can only be a good thing,” he says.

Strand UK field sales manager David Cusworth agreed. Stressing the diversity of Strand’s distributors as a key factor in the company’s success, he says: “Black Light brings some unique features to our distribution network, which is very important.”

However, Gavin is also keen to stress that existing suppliers and products will continue to receive the loyalty and long-term support to which they’ve become accustomed. “Our existing suppliers and product ranges will not be affected in any way, because our whole ethos is to hold stocks of equipment which we believe in and the end user wants,” he says. “From the biggest lighting desk down to the smallest fixing, the only change that people will see is our stock continuing to increase.”

Gavin is also pleased that the agreement between the companies is a direct result of the highly successful 2004 Scotland Lighting Show, hosted by the company at its Edinburgh premises in September. “We have seen several very good business deals occur as a result of meetings at the Show,” he says. “It clearly demonstrates how essential the Show is becoming for lighting equipment suppliers and users throughout the north of Britain.”
